Unfortunately COVID-19 (“coronavirus”) infections have been increasing in New York City and several surrounding areas. The coronavirus infection presents with upper respiratory symptoms: congestion, cough, fever and as it worsens: shortness of breath. The Centers of Disease Control (CDC) and the New York Presbyterian Hospital have been providing specific guidelines to providers regarding testing, treatment, and quarantine. New York Physicians is currently not set up to do this testing. If you have symptoms or have been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with the virus you can call your provider or the COVID 19 hotline (888-364 3065) to see how you should proceed.
As a safety precaution for the general public the CDC has asked that people who have mild upper respiratory symptoms to stay at home for 72 hours after the symptoms have abated. We are asking our patients to do the same. If you would like to consult your physician here for more guidance we are offering televisits. All you need to have is a computer with audio/video or a smart phone. Please call/email your doctor's secretary to see if a telehealth appointment is possible. If you would like to proceed with an appointment a request to do so in writing is required so please email the appropriate staff member.
