Flu Vaccination at New York Physicians is now available

Flu vaccines are designed to protect against the main flu viruses that research and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) suggest will be the most common during the upcoming season. Three kinds of flu viruses commonly circulate among people today: influenza A (H1N1) viruses, influenza A (H3N2) viruses, and influenza B viruses.

 

Our 2018-2019 high dose influenza trivalent, preservative free, vaccine, recommended only for patients age 65 and over, is made to protect against the following three viruses:

The high dose vaccine contains four times the amount of antigen (the part of the vaccine that prompts the body to make antibody) contained in regular flu shots. The additional antigen is intended to create a stronger immune response (more antibody) in the person getting the vaccine.

 

Our 2018-2019 Flublok quadrivalent, preservative free, egg free (recombinant protein based) vaccine, recommended for patients age 50-64, and immuno-suppressed patients age 18-64, is made to protect against the following four viruses:
